Hi Richard,
One of our clients is using Easy Restaurant Menu Manager – Extended to manage the wine list at his restaurant. While the plugin is working correctly on the front-end, he’s pretty frustrated at the back-end of the plugin because he can’t automatically sort his wines (within their various categories) by price. He’s got to go in and manually update the Order Number for all/many of the products in a category to keep the list in order.
Any thoughts on what it might take to have this functionality added / built to our client’s plugin?
Is the problem with the lack of a many-to-many relationship between products and categories or is it that he really needs a drag-and-drop ordering feature?
I am not sure how to get the shortcode for my site so I can post it in the menu page… I did notice in the notes it mentions [WP_Restaurant_Menu id="{DB id}"] and the rest will be found in the menu settings… but I could not find anything…. please help…Thanks!
Hi,

Please, let me know what i,m doing wrong taking care that i,m a newcomer on wordpress.
I have purchased the extended version and you have a great plug in here but there is one major flaw that should be addressed immediately. The plugin needs to double check to make sure that when you are about to do something destructive like delete a menu that it stops you and asks if that is what you really want to do.
I was rushing to complete a web site I started a week ago for a customer’s restaurant that just reopened for our short tourist season. After many hours of work, I was in the process of adding pictures and admittedly I was pretty tired at 1:15 am after working for 15 hours. I intended to hit the Edit link, on the next menu but but in my tiredness, I accidentally hit the delete button and when the editor did not open, being so tired that I was not thinking clearly I hit it again and a third time before I realized that my 3 biggest menus were gone that took hours and hours to build. I am just hoping there is a very recent backup on the server to restore the site or I will be working many hours on my own time restoring what I destroyed in a few seconds.
Every piece of software I have ever used in my 25 years in this business has a feature when you are about to do something destructive like deleting a page or a site or whatever, stops you and asks you if you REALLY want to delete whatever it is you are about to delete. The Menu Manager just deletes without making sure that is what you REALLY want to do. It is like a loaded gun with no safety.
We host and manage hundreds of sites and other than that serious flaw, I think your plugin is perfect and I hope to use it on many future sites.
Hello,
Is there an easy way to translate the plugin? With PO files or with WPML?
Hey Jurgen,
This feature is still on the dev list.

Hey Stella,
The shortcode for the menu is listed on the edit menu page on the admin.
Here is an example:

The shortcode is listed near the bottom, put it in your page content.

Hey K.,
Looking at Firebug, there are some JS errors that may be causing an issue.
Uncaught ReferenceError: Cufon is not defined

Hey Carlos,
Did you Deactivate and then Activate the plugin after you installed the extended version?
I have had to deactivate menu as it keeps adding code to htaccess file and then it shuts down website any solutions???
The plugin has no code in to edit a file on the server.
I would recommend you lock down your htaccess so that it is not writable by the server.
